The basic data that must be measured
Measurements should be taken based on the net dimensions between finished surfaces, and it should be recorded whether flooring, ceiling, or wall coverings have been laid on site.
- Net length and net width of the opening
- Thickness of floor slabs, beams, or ceiling structures
- Vertical height from the finished surface of the ground to the finished surface of the opening
- Staircase unfolding direction and available length
- Location of walls, light fixtures, cabinets and pipes around the opening
Why is reporting only the length and width of the opening insufficient?
The same opening size may correspond to different floor heights, floor slab structures, and unfolding spaces. Ignoring these conditions may result in stair sections not being able to unfold fully, insufficient fixing positions, or conflicts with furniture.
How to shoot photos and videos
It is recommended to take photos of the area directly below the opening, above the opening, in the direction of expansion, and in a panoramic view of the surrounding area, placing a measuring tape in the images to show the dimensions. Photos can be used for preliminary assessment, but cannot replace on-site verification for complex situations.
How to confirm measurement results
Before customized production, both parties should confirm the final dimensions, installation method, opening direction, material, operation method, and on-site responsibility boundaries, and write them into the order or contract.
